the world cup is over, so here i am.
i have finally recovered from the 'football fever' i got diagnosed with some time ago... but the recent trip to the doc's resulted in me learning that i have unfortunately contracted the latest illness- post world cup syndrome. i have the urge to stamp on people's groin area, and i fall to the ground upon the slightest of touches.. let's hope everything goes well....
well a number of things happened the past few weeks.. from my 4th blogskin in like a month, you would probably have figured tad there is now someone 'special' in my life.. haha and as almost all of u out there have already figured, the lady in my life now is ed- short for edwina. =)
many other things have happened. say last friday when my diploma course organised the annual games day.. i formed a team for the 5-a-side street soccer competition, choosing mainly my classmates as the core of the team.. i was actually desperate to win the competition twice in 2 years, but i lowered my expectations upon knowing the skill level of my teammates...
bak and meng happened to be there when the competition was held.. when he saw how we played he commented to me " wah you're a one man team sia..." basically, scoring 3 goals out of the team's total of 4 despite playing as defender and even goalkeeper at one point, pretty much says it all.. we managed to win a game out of 3 though, enjoying and bonding well as a team along the way- which was ultimately the main aim in my mind then.. apparently my performances were as solid ala Fabio Cannavaro, therefore one of my mates commented that i played as well as him ( refer to tagboard ). i somehow didn't really appreciate that comment though.. ahahahah..
sunday was a day of highs and lows.. it was sunday morning where i woke up with sore eyes due to the lack of sleep.. it was sunday early afternoon which started things off officially between ed and me.. then it was sunday evening, when i realised that i went all the way to choa chu kang for my AFL game only to realise at kick-off point that the game was to be canceled due to bad weather... the hell..
things just seemed to lightened up and became positive- i didn't fail my tests when i thought i would fail badly.. ahahaha!!! i also managed to escape from my tutors' clutches for not doing my work, and the amusing part is that i convinced them i did the tutorial work at the same time and not mark me down!! ( please do not ask me how in the world i managed to do it, it's the gift of the gab =p ) hahah!!
well i have to slowly adjust my body system back to pre-world cup now.. my tutors' are starting to notice me for my poor attendance and the no-shows of my tutorial works... haha..
i'm going off now, all the best to you guys.
hopefully things would be smooth-sailing. hopefully things would work out fine. wish us luck. =)
The Living Statues
Two statues stood in a city park: one female and the other male. These statues faced each other for many years.
Early one morning, an angel appeared before the statues and said, "Since the two of you have been exemplary statues and have brought enjoyment to many people, I am giving you your greatest wish. I hereby give you the gift of life. You have 30 minutes to do whatever you desire."
And with that command, the statues came to life. The two statues smiled at each other, ran toward some nearby woods and dove behind a couple of bushes. The angel smiled to himself as he listened to the two statues giggling, bushes rustling, and twigs snapping.
After fifteen minutes, the two statues emerged from the bushes, satisfied and smiling.
Puzzled, the angel looked at his watch and asked the statues, "You still have fifteen minutes. Would you like to continue?"
The male statue looked at the female and asked, "Do you want to do it again?"
Smiling, the female statue said, "Sure. But this time YOU hold the pigeon down and I'll crap on its head!" haha... now that is a joke full of crap...
cheers =)
